Black SheepSet in New Zealand, the land that brings you the best tasting lamb comes a horror comedy that show you what happens if the lamb fights back, with a little help from a crazy farmer and his team of scientists. This is a Zombie movie with a twist, the zombie plague starts with a sheep bite, well sort of and the people are turned into zombie sheep things.
Yes ok, it may sound like it’s going to be a bit crap, but it’s not, it’s great. I loved it.

I read a few reviews on Netflix before I started watching this film, and they were not good, but I think maybe the people who watched and reviewed it may of been expecting something else. I have no idea what the were thinking they were going to get I think the description explains it quiet clearly:

“On a quiet New Zealand ranch, a genetic experiment has gone horribly wrong, transforming a calm flock of sheep into killers hungry for human blood in this outrageous comic gore-fest. Those bitten become ravenous were-sheep. As the body count rises, a desperate handful of outnumbered survivors take a last stand against the ovine onslaught. Who will live, and who will be the next victim of the vicious killer sheep?”

I was very impressed with Black Sheep. The writing is great, lots of hidden humor, there is plenty of suspenseful jump-out-of-your seat and spill your popcorn moments. The acting is really good and the effects are gory and funny all at the same time. It’s worth pointing out that the effects are done in an almost 1980’s style way, but better, and when I say better I mean way better. They were done by the company that brought you the Lord of The Rings effects, New Zealand based WETA Workshops.
If you are looking for a good, fun, gory well made zombie horror this is for you, unless you have a fear of sheep.
