Shaun of the Dead
I first heard about Shaun of the Dead when I was working in London. Well almost working, I went to an Animation Studio based Ealing Studios for a job interview. The interview went well and I was feeling good about myself. Then I stepped out the front door into a car park full off Zombies, not one or two but a bloody horde, and I do mean bloody….
This film is great, its a true zombie film. You can tell that it was inspired by the classics. The zombies are slow, the effects are good and not over the top.
The thing that make it stand out is it’s a comedy with zombies in it, and not a zombie film with with comedy in it. If you know what I mean.
Perfect for those scaredy cats out there (Yes Steven I mean you)
British comedy at its best. Go watch it.
Here is the plot in a salted bar snacks shell….
Two mates, 1 Girlfriend + her mates. Drinks and snacks in Pub. Relationship problems everywhere. More Drinks and snacks in Pub. Dead People everywhere, Kill some. Make plan. Get Mum. Crash Car. Kill some more. Get girlfriend + her mates. Kill some more. Go to Pub. Kill some more. All goes wrong. Kill Mum. Kill flat mate. Get bitten. Get saved. Play in shed.
Best Line: There are just too many to choose from, oh well:
Either “We’re not using the Z word.” Or “Oooo he’s got an arm off.”
Best Weapon: Swing Ball (if used right)
